Freight: brokers, 3PLs, carriers and fleets
Know when a load goes quiet, before the customer calls
We build around your TMS: a status board that flags silent loads, load details entered once, accessorials tracked, and margin reports you can trust.
Where the work gets stuck
Paying for tracking, still making check calls.
Drivers skip the app, tracking drops mid-load, and nobody gets an alert.
One load, typed again and again.
Into the TMS, the customer's portal, and somewhere else.
Accessorials tracked by hand.
Detention, lumper, TONU and chassis fees, when they're tracked at all.
A margin report you second-guess.
Because the TMS and the accounting don't agree.
Your team isn't slow. Each tool handles one piece and hands the rest back to a person. The information exists. It just gets carried between systems by hand, load after load.
You've probably asked yourself
- Why am I paying for tracking and still making check calls?
- How many times does one status update get typed?
- Which margin report is right?
- Do we really need another billing person just to keep up?
What you want, and what we build for it
Know a load has gone quiet.
A status board that flags loads that stopped reporting, before the customer calls.
Enter each load once.
Load details entered once and sent where they need to go.
Every accessorial billed.
Accessorial tracking that catches detention and chassis fees before they pile up.
One margin number you trust.
Margin reports tied to your accounting.
Your TMS stays. We build what's missing around it, and we keep it running.
Where AI fits
AI reads tenders and rate confirmations into your TMS. Your team checks the exceptions.
What we can't fix
Freight rates, chassis shortages, terminal congestion and the driver shortage. We work on how each load moves through your office.
I was hired to build an AI agent. The real job was bigger.
I build internal tools at a manufacturer. I was brought in to build an AI agent for quoting.
I spent months working alongside the teams who handle quotes, and noticed something. AI was misunderstood. To the people closest to the work, it sounded too technical to trust and too vague to use.
What they needed first wasn't an agent. It was a simple automation: something that reads each quote request as it arrives and files it in one place.
Once that was running, the rest of the process came into view. The steps around every quote were slow, manual, and done a little differently each time. Standardize them, add AI where it earns its place, and the work speeds up. Better still, the data finally shows up.
And the data had answers nobody could see before:
- Fewer requests were coming in than anyone thought, so the extra hire everyone expected turned out not to be needed.
- Plenty of quotes were going out, but not enough were turning into orders.
- Quotes could go out faster.
- New customers were finding the company on their own, and nobody knew how.
The answers had been there all along. They were buried, because the people closest to them were stuck doing busywork.
That's when it clicked. If one business runs like this, how many others do?
That's why Hazelrod exists. We find what's under the business and build what fixes it: a simple automation where that's enough, and a full AI system where it's worth it.

Your data, handled like the business depends on it
Because yours does, and so does ours. These are promises every build keeps.
Only the access a job needs
We ask for the least access that does the work, and you can see and revoke it.
Secrets kept encrypted
Passwords, keys and logins to your systems are stored encrypted, never in code, email or chat.
Your code, your data, kept apart
You own both, and they leave with you if you ever stop working with us. Nothing is shared between clients.
You'll know where your data lives
We write down, in plain language, where your data is stored and every outside service it touches. Nothing goes to a new one without your OK.
A person approves
Anything that touches money, customers or records goes through a human approval step.
Backups, tested
Every system we run is backed up nightly to a separate location, and we test the restore before it goes live.
Find out what's under your business
The first step is a fixed-price review. If we find you don't need us, we'll tell you, and the findings are yours to keep.
