Software and AI, built around how your company works

What's under your business, and what to do about it

We find where software and AI fit in how your company actually runs, build it on top of the systems you already have, and keep it running.

Illustration with made-up names. Every build is made for the business it runs in.

Your company grew. The way the work moves didn't keep up.

The schedule lives in one person's spreadsheet.

Every rush job means rebuilding it by hand.

Invoices never reach accounting.

Two systems, two versions of the truth, and someone fixing it at month-end.

The profit report and your gut disagree.

And nobody can say for certain which one is right.

One week off, and things slip.

Too much of the business still lives in one person's head.

That isn't a people problem. It's a plumbing problem. The work is there. The data is there. They just don't connect.

You've probably asked yourself

  • Do we need a new ERP? We already paid for one.
  • Should we hire someone just to keep up?
  • Is this an AI thing? Everybody says it's an AI thing.
What you actually want

Simpler than a new system

Most leaders don't want more software. They want the business to run the way it does in their head, without it all depending on them.

Numbers you believe.

Reports built from the source records, so every figure traces back to where it came from.

A week off without your phone.

The process written into the tool, not kept in one person's memory.

A team that doesn't need you to find the file.

One place for each job, order or request, from the first email to the final invoice.

Growth without another desk.

Software handles the steps that are the same every time, so your team spends its time on the ones that aren't.

How we work

Look first. Then build only what's worth it.

We don't replace your ERP, your field software or your TMS. We build what's missing around them, and we stay to keep it running.

  1. Review

We sit with your team and map how the work actually moves: what comes in, who touches it, and where it waits.

    Fixed price
  2. Decide

You get a written plan: what's worth fixing, what isn't, and what it costs. If you don't need us, we'll tell you.

The findings are yours to keep
  3. Build

We build on top of the systems you already have, and your team tries it on real work before anything changes.

  4. Run

We keep it running, fix what breaks, and change it as the business changes.

Why Hazelrod

I was hired to build an AI agent. The real job was bigger.

I build internal tools at a manufacturer. I was brought in to build an AI agent for quoting.

I spent months working alongside the teams who handle quotes, and noticed something. AI was misunderstood. To the people closest to the work, it sounded too technical to trust and too vague to use.

What they needed first wasn't an agent. It was a simple automation: something that reads each quote request as it arrives and files it in one place.

Once that was running, the rest of the process came into view. The steps around every quote were slow, manual, and done a little differently each time. Standardize them, add AI where it earns its place, and the work speeds up. Better still, the data finally shows up.

And the data had answers nobody could see before:

  • Fewer requests were coming in than anyone thought, so the extra hire everyone expected turned out not to be needed.
  • Plenty of quotes were going out, but not enough were turning into orders.
  • Quotes could go out faster.
  • New customers were finding the company on their own, and nobody knew how.

The answers had been there all along. They were buried, because the people closest to them were stuck doing busywork.

That's when it clicked. If one business runs like this, how many others do?

That's why Hazelrod exists. We find what's under the business and build what fixes it: a simple automation where that's enough, and a full AI system where it's worth it.

Our view

About AI.

AI can do far more for your business than most people realize. It also gets sold for things it can't do. We'll tell you which is which.

Think of us as your partner on it. We'll show you where AI is truly valuable in your business, whether a job calls for an AI agent or a simple automation, and what each will cost to run.

Some jobs need judgment: reading a messy email, answering a question from years of records, spotting a pattern in the numbers. That's where AI shines. Others need the same thing done the same way every time. That's a rule, and a rule is cheaper and never guesses. Most businesses need both.

And if the ambitious version is worth it, we'll build that too: AI working across your systems from the first email to the final report, with a person approving anything that touches money, customers or records.

We use AI ourselves, every day. It's why we can build in weeks what used to take a team months.

What AI is truly good at

  • Reading the messy stuff. Pulling what matters out of emails, PDFs, invoices and drawings, and putting it into your systems.
  • Answering from what you know. Your team asks in plain words and gets answers from your own manuals, policies and past jobs.
  • Handling the routine. First replies, routing requests, drafting quotes, emails and summaries for a person to send.
  • Seeing what's coming. Forecasting demand, scoring leads, flagging trouble early, once your data is clean enough to learn from.

Where it falls short, and what we do about it

  • It can be confidently wrong. Every answer is checked before it touches your data, and a person approves what matters.
  • It can't fix a broken process. Automate a mess and you get a faster mess. We fix the process first.
  • It doesn't know your business like you do. Judgment calls and relationships stay with your people.
  • It can't always explain itself. Where you need to show your work, like pricing, we use rules you can read.
Security

Your data, handled like the business depends on it

Because yours does, and so does ours. These are promises every build keeps.

Only the access a job needs

We ask for the least access that does the work, and you can see and revoke it.

Secrets kept encrypted

Passwords, keys and logins to your systems are stored encrypted, never in code, email or chat.

Your code, your data, kept apart

You own both, and they leave with you if you ever stop working with us. Nothing is shared between clients.

You'll know where your data lives

We write down, in plain language, where your data is stored and every outside service it touches. Nothing goes to a new one without your OK.

A person approves

Anything that touches money, customers or records goes through a human approval step.

Backups, tested

Every system we run is backed up nightly to a separate location, and we test the restore before it goes live.

Find out what's under your business

The first step is a fixed-price review. If we find you don't need us, we'll tell you, and the findings are yours to keep.
